Caring Card

Hello Friends~~
Lisa from SSCC#6 has given insight to being the person who you really want to be in God's eyes. Don't get caught up in the hype. The scripture quoted is: Psalm 19:14: Let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in your sight Oh, Lord, my strength and my redeemer. The challenge for this week is to make a card letting someone know that you are thinking of them or praying for them. A"thinking of you" card is always sure to bring a smile to someones face. And a "praying for you" card is sure to bring comfort. Both are blessings as much to those who give as to those who receive!

Die cut Dreams challenge #16 is to use ribbons and trims!!

This card I made is for a friend that has a daughter that last week had major surgery to remove tumors not knowing if it was cancer or not. Everything went as best as it could and time will tell what the future holds. My friend is a professor at a university and when she received news of her daughters condition she had to take a leave of absence b/c emotions took over :-( I felt so very bad for her and told her they would be prayed for daily. I sure hope this "Thinking of You" card does bring a smile to her face and lighten as well as brighten her day!!

I used Certainly celery for the card base and layered with brown, melon mambo and white. Stamping the phrase: "Three Little Words" and tagging with "thinking of you." I Stamped butterfly swirls with Colorbox pink Ink before adhereing the layers. Added Twinkling H2O irridescent green to the pink and white butterflies for shimmer and rhinestones and pink stickles (on the babies) for bling!! Added ribbon, roses and a special guardian angel charm!!
Here is a close up of the melon mambo ribbon with roses twirled into it as well as a better view of the guardian angel charm and shimmery butterflies :-)
The finished inside is a continuance of the butterfly swirl stamp and the same color combo of papers layered for a personal message. Finishing with three little words inside of "God Loves You!!"
Recipe:
Stamps: SU Three Little Words Set and Inkadinkado (butterfly swirl & God Loves You)
Ink: SU Markers, Colorbox Pink, pink stickles & Twinkling H2O (iridescent green)
Papers
: SU brown, melon mambo, white & certainly celery

Tools
: SU eyelet border punch, SU ticket corner punch, MS butterfly punch,

Embellishments
:
SU melon mambo ribbon, roses, guardian angel charm, rhinestones

Tilda Sending Girlfriend A Letter

Smiles everyone~~ My girlfriend and co-worker is having a birthday on Monday, so I made her a card. I used the sketch from MMSC#20 and the Just Magnolia week 24 color combo challenge to use Grey and Pink. I incorporated a bunch of punches to enter the Pile It On #16 challenge. The Stamp Something challenge if to use a favorite layout or sketch. I Amazed Myself!!!! LOL--don't you love when that happens :-)

My focus image is Little Miss Tilda waiting to deliver her card :-) All layers are matted with a very soft grey cardstock paper. The striped dp is from "Me&My Big Ideas" collection, the diamond dp is from K&Co. and the bench is stamped on a distressed sheet from BG Bittersweet collection. I used foam tape to pop up Miss Tilda, the pillow on the bench and each cuttlebugged or border punched layer. The "Girlfriends" sentiment is a quote sticker from Cloud9 Designs. She is sooo cute that I can't wait to share her with Patti!!!

Another view so you can see the dimension:

The finished inside is using the same DP and ribbon~~ adding sentiments of "Birthday Wishes and Smiles" seeing we work in a dental office :D Then of course, I couldn't forget the BUTTERFLIES!!!!!!

Recipe:

Stamps: Tilda with Letter, Art Impressions (bench), Delta (small stamped butterfly), Studio G (Birthday Wishes)
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, copics & Inkssentials opaque pen
Papers
: SU (grey), Me&My Big Ideas, K&Company, BG Bittersweet

Tools
: MS border & butterfly punches, Fiskars border punch, EK Success corner & flower punches, Spellbinders Die Cut border, CB & SU embossing folders

Fall Cuttlebug Card

Hello Everyone~ A few different fall color variations for me.
CPC has a challenge to use the colors: tempting turquoise, pumpkin pie and close to cocoa. So below is my creation ~~ and I am very pleased. Hope you like :-)
SSCC #5 challenge is to make a fall card. Kathy Winter chose this scripture verse for us to ponder on this week. Ecclesiastes 3:1, "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven." (NIV)
Basic Grey week #4 is sponsoring a lucky draw challenge of heat or dry embossing.

My card base is pumpkin pie orange with a twist of turquoise for excitement and cuttlebugged close to cocoa with the Friends Forever folder. Then I found the BG Marrakech paper which matched beautifully to add detail ~~~ picket fence, ladybugs and inside border which shows b/c I shortened the front of the card. Added Oak and Maple leaves falling as well as a tag sentiment and finished with a little glitz using distress stickles.

The finished inside: I used SU top note die and kraft paper accented with maple and oak leaves.

Recipe:
Stamps: SU Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: SU Chocolate chip
Papers
: SU (pumpkin pie, tempting turquoise & close to cocoa) BG Marrakech

Tools
: EK Success lady bug and maple leaf punches, Oak leaf punches, MS picket fence border punch, Fiskars rope border punch and MS tag punch

Embellishments: Distress stickles (spiced marmalade, broken china & fired brick)

Winter Wishes

Hi Everyone~ CPC had a Tuesday sketch challenge this week in which I used to create this christmas card.

My focused image (which I got from my daughter--THANKS KIM!!) is WOJ~ Winter Miss Charlotte with cat. They are raised off a deckled mega embossed rectangle which is also raised off a snowflake embossed peony shape. Miss Charlotte and her kitty are colored with copics. Liquid applique was placed on her hat, coat collar and handmuff to give it a soft, fluffy and warm appearance. Green satin ribbon is holding the swiss dotted ribbon tag sentiment in place over a strip of Making Memories plaid dp punched with MS stars and snowflakes. The sparkly mesh ribbon is accented with white snowflake embossed paper shaped with MS border punch and detailed with MS branch and red rhinestones. Very pleased with finished card :D

A close up of Miss Charlotte and her kitty.

Recipe:
Stamps: Charlotte with her cat by Whiff of Joy and SU sentiment from "A Cardinal Christmas"

Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black and Copics
Papers: SU and MMdp
Tools: Spellbinders nesties and ribbon tags, cuttlebug snowflake folder, MS border and branch punches,
Embellishments: Liquid Applique, ribbon and rhinestones

Tilda Sharing Tulips

Hi Everyone~~ Hope you had time to enjoy the beautiful weather this weekend. I did and then took time on sunday to make a card :-) I had combined 4 challenges in this special card.
SSCC4 The Scripture Lisa chose is Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Our challenge is to follow the sketch below.

Basic Grey is An Inspirational Challenge for Week 3. After viewing a photo you are to create a card . Click Here to view photo.
Just Magnolia is on week 22 and the challenge is an EMBOSSING theme.

Stamp Something has a challenge to use favorite embellishments.

I colored Miss Tilda with my copics. Using BG dp as the foundation, I then popped Miss Tilda on Spellbinders Contemporary Hearts pendant laced with gold ribbon. Used the inside of the pendant for flower base under the primas and finished flower with pin, butterfly charm, ribbon and heart bead. Crystal stickles used to add glitz to flower. Final touches of bling were added with rhinestones and more butterflies punched from BG dp :-)

Flowers and butterflies are two of my most favorite embellishments! You will see them often!

Recipe:

Stamps: Magnolia (Tilda with Tulips)
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black and Copics
Papers: SU and BG Wisteria Collection
Tools: Spellbinders Shapeabilities Pendants, MS butterfly punch , EK Succes border punch, MS Frond leaf punch, prima flowers, rose, ribbon, pin, butterfly charm, heart bead, and rhinestones

Melinda Reading Her Book

Hello~ My card is for 2 challenges: SSCC and Stamp Something.
At SSCC we are to make a card which would encourage or inspire our children or a teacher. The scripture chosen for this week is Proverbs 22:6 "Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it." My hubby and I have always asked our kids to always try and do there best and whatever the outcome~ at least they tried!!
For the Stamp Something challenge we are to use our favorite stamp or set and as a bonus to add the use of die cutting tools and punches :D Well, I ended up using 3 different stamps~~ you are right that is a very tough decision to only pick a stamp.
My card is an acetate card which I stamped the diamond background with Cotton White Opaque stazon and then I chose the Bo Bunny Alissa (my youngest daughter's name :)collection as the insert. The stamps I used are the cute little Melinda from Whiff of Joy and Mother Teresa set from ODBD. I cut out Melinda with oval nestie and popped her up, then glued a black scalloped oval under the acetate behind Miss Melinda. Used ribbon to connect insert to acetate and added "SMILE" from Verve Circular Sayings Set along with flowers and butterflies :-)

The finished inside of my card is a stamped verse from Mother Teresa Stamp Set on labels 4 nestie over a curved rectangular layer accented with butterfly.
Recipe:

Boyds Bears Tea Party

Hello Everyone~

Wow I amazed myself by combining 3 challenges in one. Whew!!! The fun challenges include Priscilla's MMSC #17 sketch, Basic Grey Color challenge of brown, pink, yellow along with 1 item from basic grey (which I was too late to enter but oh well), and Paper Maniac's embossing challenge.

The stamp I used is very old, sitting around since kids were little. It is Boyds Bear & Friends (Emma and Bailey) having tea :) I used SU brown paper and BG Urban Prairie collection.

Emma and Bailey were colored with my copics (thanks Kim for little lesson the other night) and I added bling to the roses with taffy smooch. The rose accents I sparkled up with stickles and finished with added touch of dew drops.
I embossed each BG layer with different folder design.
Recipe:
Stamps: Boyd Bears & Friends (Emma & Bailey)
Ink:
Momento Tuxedo Black, Copics & Taffy Smooch
Papers:
SU and BG Urban Prairie Collection

Tools
: Cuttlebug embossing folders and Spellbinders Octagon Nesties
Embellishments:
